Find this and many more recipes with pictures on the Giallozafferano App (in English) *** The chocolate chip cookies were born in the thirties in the United States in the kitchen of the hotel owned by miss Ruth Wakefield, who used to bake chocolate cookies for her guests, but one day she decided to add chunks of chocolate instead of melted chocolate... from then on, the craze for chocolate chip cookies started and she became one of the most famous bakers of America... let's make them together! For about 48 cookies Chocolate chip cookies (about 48 cookies) • 3 ¼ cups (360 g) of sifted cake flour • 1 tsp (5 g) of baking soda • 2 sticks (230 g) of softened butter • ½ cup (100 g) of granulated sugar • 1 2/3 cups (200 g) of powdered sugar • ¾ tbsp (10 g) of coarse salt • ½ tsp (2 g) of vanilla extract • 3 medium eggs • 2 cups (350 g) of chocolate chips First of all, put the softened butter in a bowl; now add the granulated sugar... and stir to blend, after that, sift in the powdered sugar. Mix up everything. When the mixture is nice and smooth, add the coarse salt... the vanilla extract, or the seeds from a vanilla pod or a pinch of vanilla powder... and the eggs... and stir until creamy. Now add the baking soda to the flour, previously sifted... mix for a minute... and add to the mixture... and mix well. When the flour has been fully incorporated, you can add the main ingredient of this recipe, the chocolate chips. I am using dark chocolate chips, but you can use milk or white chocolate chips, as desired. Stir into the dough... there's plenty of them, as you can see... mix well and the cookie dough is ready! Now arrange the cookies on a baking sheet, that has been lined with parchment paper: using 2 spoons, scoop out mounds of dough, about 1,5 oz (40 g) each, onto the baking sheet; leave plenty of room for the cookies to rise and spread while baking... let's say that each batch makes about 9 cookies. Then bake in a preheated static oven at 350°F (180°C) for about 13-15 minutes. Once baked, they should be soft inside and golden brown on the edges, transfer the cookies to a rack to cool.
