Join me as I make gingerbread stuffed donuts using Pillsbury Grands Biscuit for the dough, and a DIY Gingerbread hot chocolate that you can also gift to your friends! #spon Friendsgiving Snacks: https://youtu.be/ajWo7FCOEw0 Gingerbread Donuts: Prep Time: 5 min Start to Finish Time: 3 ½ hours (3 hours inactive time for pastry cream to chill) Servings: 8 1 1/3 cups whole milk ½ tsp vanilla extract 1 tbsp molasses 1 tbsp ground ginger 1 tbsp ground cinnamon ½ tsp nutmeg ½ tsp allspice ½ tsp cloves 1/3 cup granulated sugar 2 tbsp cornstarch 1 egg 2 tbsp unsalted butter 1 can Pillsbury Grands Home-style Biscuit 1 cup sugar 1 tbsp ground cinnamon 4 cups vegetable oil 1) In a medium saucepan, heat milk, vanilla extract, molasses, and spices until it starts to boil on medium heat. 2) In the meantime, in a small bowl, mix sugar, cornstarch, and egg to make a paste. 3) Once the milk mixture starts to gently boil, pour half of milk mixture into egg paste to temper. Mix well and transfer back into saucepan. 4) Lower the heat to medium-low and whisk continuously until milk mixture starts to thicken, about 2-3 minutes. 5) Remove from heat and transfer to bowl. Add in butter, 1 tbsp at a time and mix well. 6) Cover with plastic wrap, making sure it touches the top of custard to prevent any skin from forming. Chill 3 hours – overnight. 7) When custard is chilled, start working on donut. 8) In a shallow bowl, add 1 cup granulated sugar and 1 tbsp cinnamon. Mix well and set aside. 9) In a frying pan, add vegetable oil and heat until it’s ready to fry. 10) Add Pillsbury Grands Home-style Biscuit and fry on each side for 2 minutes until golden brown. 11) Remove with slotted spoon and coat even with sugar cinnamon mixture. 12) Let cool completely on rack. 13) Add Gingerbread custard to piping bag and poke hole on the side of donut. Squeeze custard into donut until it is heavy and starts to expand. 14) Enjoy! Gingerbread Hot Chocolate Prep Time: 5 min Start to Finish Time: 10 min Servings: 8-10 Hot Chocolate Powder: 1 ¼ cups powdered sugar 1 ¼ cups cocoa powder 1 tbsp ground ginger 1 tbsp ground cinnamon 1 tsp all spice ½ tsp nutmeg ¼ tsp kosher salt 1) Sift all ingredients into a large bowl. 2) Transfer to mason jar to store.
